(Technewonline) Apple plans to open 25 new stores across China in the next two years as part of the strategy boosted the presence of the apple in the most populous country in the world and against Xiaomi, which being dubbed the 'Apple China'.
Speaking to the news agency of China, the head of the retail industry Angela Ahrendts Apple has revealed immediate plans of the company will open a store in Shanghai on January 24, four more stores will opened before the Lunar New Year begins on 19/2. With this new store, the total number of Apple Store in China could reach 20.
Ahrendts also noted that four of the five stores were opened in the city where Apple ever face. But she does not plan to disclose details of their company in the future.
Currently, the biggest challenge Apple in China is Xiaomi, a local company with huge fanbase through online sales and flashy press event. The company also has ambitions to overtake Apple and Samsung in the future.
Apple will directly compete with Xiaomi.
